Between November and December, La Amistad bridge over the Tempisque river will close for nine days to inspect and diagnose infrastructure damage.
Closures will take place between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. during the following days:
- Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, November 9 to 11
- Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, November 28 to 30
- Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, December 12 to 14
Buses that normally travel by means of the bridge over the Tempisque River will have to use the ferry from Puntarenas to Naranjo Beach or travel to Liberia, as stipulated by the Public Transportation Council.
The affected bus routes are the ones operated by the companies Transportes Guanacastecos Ryozumo, Alfaro, Transportes Inteligentes del Guanacaste and Transportes Chemo.
It’s important that you take into account that bus drivers won’t be able to let passengers get off or on at stops other than the usual ones, even though they take these new routes.
Transportes Chemo told that the route their route to Jicaral is currently operated by Alfaro. In addition, they suspended the Bejuco – San José route.
