The Red Cross branches in Nosara, Samara and Hojancha continue to search for the body of Denis Solano, who, along with his friend Luis Villafuerte, had gone out to walk and fish among the rocks of Playa Carrillo, Guanacaste, on May 31.
Villafuerte’s body was discovered by area residents on Tuesday, June 4, floating in the ocean close to the estuary at Playa Carrillo. He was 52 years old. It appears that both Villafuerte and Solano were surprised by the ocean’s waves.
According to Fredy Roman, spokesperson for the Red Cross in the Chorotega region, the search for Denis Solano, age 44, still continues. It is anticipated that, having met the same fate, his body will be found close to where Villafuerte’s was located.
According to Fredy Roman, they are “combing” the area around Samara, Corosalito, Camaronal and Puerto Carrillo.
Roman indicated that the search effort will continue for the entire week, by air, land and sea, with help from the Public Force’s aerial and naval division.
