Coyote to Kick up Mud in 4×4 Trip

On October 9 and 10, the town of Coyote de Nandayure will be the scene for the sixth annual Coyote 4×4 outing.

On Friday, October 9 mud lovers will be able to enjoy themselves on a 40 km trip that goes from Jicaral to San Francisco de Coyote, including gravel roads, hills and more than 40 river passings.

Stock cars can participate in any trip (any vehicle with 4-wheel drive) as well as modified 4×4 cars. There will be two departure times, with the first group leaving at 8:45 a.m. and the second at 12:30 p.m.

On Saturday, October 10 the official event will be held at 9 a.m. at the San Fracicsco de Coyote fairgrounds. There will be two courses: one that is 800 meters for stock vehicles and another of almost nine kilometers for modified 4×4 cars.

The cost the adventure is ¢20,000 ($38) for registration, which includes both days, an event tee shirt and food. Those who just want to watch the cars at the fairgrounds will pay ¢3,000 ($5.75) and kids under ten will be free.

According to JacoboDelso, one of the event’s organizers, just as in past years, the funds raised will be used to support the town’s school, church and cemetery. This year, the main beneficiary will be the Ebais, as Purdy Motors, one of the sponsors, has committed to donating two air conditioning units that are urgently needed for the building.

Delso added that participation is completely open. The only requirement is that the car has 4×4. The event is not about competition; it is completely recreational and family-friendly.

At the fairgrounds, there will be music, food for sale and a mechanical bull, among other attractions.
