Forming part of the Economic Sciences Professional Association is a guarantee for excellence in professional development in Guanacaste thanks to the support that this institution has provided throughout the country.

How do you guarantee that excellence with a membership? The Economic Sciences Professional Association provides its members with constant training in order to develop skills that are fundamental to stand out in the labor market and aren’t always taught in universities or other schools.

These opportunities for the province are not limited to the regional headquarters in Liberia. The Economic Sciences Professional Association created a platform in September to offer online classes to all its members.

“We are working on identifying the needs in the zone,” said Zoila Víquez Ramírez, director of the association. “There is national interest in Guanacaste, not just at the association,” she said, adding that the association’s main focus is to become an institution that listens and responds to the region.

That’s why the institution has responded to the demand for more information in areas like administrative hiring, drafting technical reports, teamwork and conflict resolution.

The association also offers nutrition services for its members and will soon offer physical therapy. You get all this with a membership that costs ¢6.100 colons ($10.70) per month.

Víquez said the presence of association headquarters in San Jose, San Carlos,  Pérez Zeledón, Puntarenas, Limón and Ciudad Neily.

The Economic Sciences Professional Association has more than 40,000 members in the country and almost 1,500 of them live in Guanacaste. Just last month, 58 new professionals from Guanacaste joined.

“We want people to get to know us more and we want to learn more about what members need and what the region needs,” said the association’s director.
