The Nosara Red Cross is organizing a family-friendly horse ride with the goal of raising funds for their special vertical rescue unit.

The event will be this Saturday, December 14 and will start from the soccer field in La Esperanza. The tour will travel through several different parts of the Nosaran countryside, such as Playa Guiones and Garza.

Carlos Villalobos, head of the Red Cross in Nosara, explained that the funds raised will be used to buy helmets, harnesses, ropes, and a special vinyl bed which is used extract people and costs approximately $1500.

In addition, Villalobos mentioned that while they hope to have a large number of riders, the event is open to the public, regardless of whether or not they have a horse.

“We’re inviting everyone who wants to come participate and have fun, whether they come on a motorcycle, bicycle or quad – that’s no problem,” he affirmed.

The registration fee is 10,000 colones ($20), which can be paid in the Red Cross office in Nosara and includes lunch, snacks, drinks and a number for the ride.
