On Saturday, December 5th, those who love craft beer and animals can celebrate their taste for this drink during the first Nosara Craft Beer Festival.

The event is the first of its kind in the area and is being organized by the Nosara Animal Care clinic, who hope to hold it once a year from now on to raise money for animals in rehabilitation, operating costs and castration campaigns.

From 2 p.m. until the beer runs out, visitors to the Gilded Iguanain northern Guiones can enjoy different national and international brands of craft beer. Although so far there are fivebreweries confirmed, about eight are expected, including La Selva, Domingo 7, Tierra Fertil, Belmar, Lost Coast and Costa Rica Craft Brewery.

The Craft Beer Festival will also have live music by local group Los Pelada Dogs and the American band Bird Dogs. In addition, apple cider and the regular food from Pacifico Azul restaurant can be bought, as well as fast foods like ceviche and grilled meat.

The entrance fee is10,000 colones($19), which includes six tastings, a commemorative glass and a raffle ticket. Ticekts will also be sold for 12 ounce or 4 ounce drinks for between 2500 and 3000 colones ($4.70 to $5.70).
