The National Meteorological Institute (Instituto Meteorológico Nacional – IMN) reported that a new cold front will move in on Thursday, March 14th. Although lower temperatures are not expected, strong winds will increase. “According to the model, the cold front related to this cold snap will not reach us, so temperatures will not drop significantly. However, it will bring strong wind gusts, probably stronger that those recorded during the previous front, since pressures brought in by this front will be higher”, explained Luis Alvarado from the IMN.

Wind gusts registered on Saturday and Sunday, March 2nd and 3rd, reached up to 110 km per hour, affecting 7 homes in the district of Nosara and collapsing many structures (chinamos) and the bullring during the fiestas in Garza.

Alvarado did not specify if winds will let up on Thursday or if they will continue blowing for several days.
