Each year, the folkloric group from Abangares, Lluvia de Oro (Golden Rain), organizes the festival Unidos por la Danza (United by Dance) in the city of Las Juntas. In the event, they bring together different folklore ambassador groups from Guanacaste, all of whom are members of the International Association of Latino Folklore.
This year, the dance will reach more communities in the province thanks to Guanacaste native Guillermina Segura, a member of the association’s board of directors, who has been in charge of coordinating with organizations in other places to bring foreign delegations to various locations of the province.
Groups from Colombia, Mexico and Peru will be performing during the month of March in Las Juntas on the 13th, in Tilaran on the 14th, in Upala the 17th, San Rafael of Abangares the 19th and Colorado the 20th.
The tour’s stop in Guanacaste will take place in Hojancha, where the groups will arrive on Saturday, the 21st, thanks to an event organized by The Voice of Guanacaste and the Municipality of Hojancha, sponsored by local businesses.
The show will be held in the Victoriano Mena school gym, one block from the Hojancha Park. The show starts at 7 p.m. and will open with the group of dancers from the host school. The activity is completely free.
