A traffic accident that took place on Tuesday afternoon, June 30th, in the district of Nosara left one person dead.
The incident occurred before 5 p.m., when a motorcyclist named Danilo Montero Murillo was parked by the side of the road after a curve, approximately 150 meters from the entrance to Guiones Sur, when, for unknown reasons, a foreigner with the last name Tarlow hit him from behind.
The vehicle that Tarlow was driving was a four-door Toyota truck. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
“In effect, the Public Force handled a case in which an American woman hit a motorcyclist from behind when he was parked in the curvy section in La Esperanza of Garza, near the bridge,” said Neftali Obando, from the Nosara Public Force.
Obando confirmed that the victim was not alone but did not specify if he was with one or several other people and did not give their names since the case is under investigation.
The force of the impact caused Montero significant internal injuries and bruises, so he had to be transferred to the hospital in Nicoya, La Anexion, in critical condition.
“Red Cross unit 1349 arrived on the scene to transport the injured person to La Anexion Hospital,” Obando said.
Due to Montero’s critical condition, he was transferred to Hospital Mexico in San Jose, where he later died.
Montero Murillo was 45 years old, was a council member for the district of Nosara and owner of Mini Super Vida in the Los Arenales neighborhood.
Traffic police officers went to the scene to write a report about what happened, without giving more details about it.
The Voice of Guanacaste tried to get the version of the Nosara Red Cross, who attended the case, but we were told that the person in charge was on vacation.
