Laughter, fun and mental relaxation were what 30 business women received on March 19 in the chapel of the new Catholic Church of Nicoya. This activity was held by the  Woman’s Office of the municipality of Nicoya, with participation from the Voice of Guanacaste.

The activities were scheduled in honor of International Women’s Day, which was March 8, but the Women’s office was busy processing scholarships and needed a little more time to coordinate a good program of activities, according Leslie Marchena Sequira, coordinator of the Women’s Office.

The main purpose was to give these women the opportunity to spend time together, sharing experiences from their daily lives and what motivates each of them to be an example of a fighter.

Some of the activities were designed by five social work students from the Free University of Costa Rica (ULICORI –Universidad Libre de Costa Rica) to encourage the women to raise their self esteem and honor their business spirit. They discussed their talents and abilities while doing their jobs. Likewise they were given themes to choose a good method of motivation. The interpersonal relationships between each one of them was valued, as well as their teamwork. All of these women had something in common: their faces reflected elected an attitude of emerging and being part of innovation with each of their projects. They played different games, did tai chi and enjoyed a nice lunch.
