The Finca Austria Nosara F.C. team, which competes to receive its second division soccer standing, has taken its first big step toward being crowned champion of the LINAFA group for Guanacaste province. With a lot of class, the Nosara players, with some reinforcement from guys from Nicoya and Santa Cruz, came out undefeated in 14 games.
The championship for the promotion kicks off again in January, and for now the team is working hard on training and important fogueos scrimmages like the games played against Puntarenas F.C. from first division on December 17th, and Municipal Liberia, from the second division on December 23rd. In both encounters, the team appeared well physically and tactically, achieving two sound ties that fill them with optimism as they look toward the next phase of the LINAFA tournament.
It was very pleasant to see in Nosara a first-division team, El Puerto, as it is popularly known. The team came to play and give a show. It was an emotional game in which Nosarans gave it their all to play a good part and they achieved it amply. |

Great game with a lot of contact against Liberia. |

Puntarenas gave a great show with strong, well-prepared players. |
The game against Municipal Liberia involved more collisions and contact; the players were not as technical as those from the Port, but the positive thing about these scrimmages is that they were able to test their skills against two teams with very different tactics. In both games, those of Finca Austria demonstrated that they have the capacity to face any rival.
Now much concentration and discipline will be required as the team must face the winning teams from the province of Puntarenas in a four-team mini tournament, and later come the "sudden deaths" against finalists from other provinces until reaching a final game from which one team will come out advancing to the second division.
