April Astrology Report
By Ashley Laux
[email protected]

As April begins, we feel drawn to stand tall in the world and affirm our place in it. Another part of us seeks out comfort and experiences that insure intimacy and security. Venus ruled themes such as love, money, sensuality, fashion, and good food are the flavors of the month. Slow and steady wins the race. Breathe deep and make sure all your motivations’ resonate within, before taking action.

On the 3rd Mercury moves into earthy Taurus and we will be focusing on the mundane. Get grounded. Deal with finances, Balance the books. Spend time alone in nature. Try not to be too stubborn or too cautious. Move to the heartbeat of the planet.

On the 7th Pluto spins retrograde in Capricorn signaling the yearly time when we begin to question existing structures, and visualizing a future that will better serve our needs. Assess personal situations and habits. Seek the places where you give your power away. Begin to clean house for your soul.

On the 8th Saturn will briefly return to the sign on Virgo, asking us to finish up lessons involving health and healing, attention to detail, and create a deeper foundation of daily practice and self care. Detoxify. Stretch and breathe. Clear your head. Open up and listen.

The new moon falls in fiery Aries on the 14th and we will feel our lust for life, renewed. Connections deepen within the greater community as we reach for our goals. Honor your authentic self. Do your own thing. Allow your deepest truth to surface.

Mercury turns retrograde on the 18th, bringing the bigger picture up for review. Look at the ways in which you create systems that support you, are they meeting your needs? Are you being too cautious? Have you given up hope? Remember, there is a difference between realism and pessimism.

Venus moves into flirty Gemini on the 26th
and we become distracted by colors, sights, and sounds. Chat with friends, play word games, take a short trip. Be creative, curious, open, and friendly.

A powerful full moon falls on the 28th in Scorpio, asking us to take one more look into the darkness and see what needs healing and resolution. Tell the truth. Confront denial. Expose secrets. Emotional upheaval is possible. Feel the passion and allow it to sooth your wounds. The time for healing is upon us. Open and receive.

Caricaco Music Fest Comes Back for More

It’s a Sunday afternoon and I’m on my way to a meeting. Maybe it’s an uncommon day for such an event but then again, the meeting’s topic is far from “common”.

This is because Nosara’s Caricaco Fest which brings, in its second edition, a wonderful selection of artists and the promise of an excellent vibe, is simply out of the ordinary in the best sense of the word. So much so that it justifies working on a Sunday. More >

Honoring our Origins through Art

SÁMARA – On Saturday, March 13th a new art gallery opened its doors in downtown Samara. The Voice of Nosara had an exclusive interview with its owner, María Fernanda Gálvez.

VON: Why did you name the gallery “Origen” (Origin)?
María Fernanda: “Origen” is an evocative name that refers to what’s authentic and original, as well as those things that define us, that make us who we are and that make us feel well. More >
