The roads in Nosara sometimes feel like a dirt bike track, so it is only natural that Guanacaste Motocross would include a race in Nosara as part of their cross province competition.
For the first time ever Nosara will host a dirt bike race, at the Pista Ramírez near Santa Marta on Sunday May 13.
Guanacaste motocross is the product of four friends’ desire to see a tournament in Guanacaste. Wilson Guerrero Arias from Nandayure is one of those friends, dirt bikers themselves, who are organizing the event.
The race in Nosara is the third race in the circuit. The previous two were in Monteverde and Viejo de Nicoya, the fourth will be in Liberia. Arias says the circuit will likely have six races in total although they’re not sure where the last two will be.
Brainer Rojas Jimenez is the Nosareño responsible for bringing the circuit to Nosara. According to Arias he was contacted by Jimenez and asked if it would be possible to include Nosara.
Jimenez, a local rider who will be racing on the 13th, says he was encouraged by the Catholic Church in Nosara to have a race here as a fundraiser. |
