From the month of November until July of next year, all of the girls between seven and nine years of age are welcome to have fun and join the Nosara Girl Scouts troupe. The group of girls are referred to as “The Brownies,” and they meet once a month, the first Sunday of each month.
The “Brownies” are focused on performing community services, such as collecting toys for Christmas, food drives and collecting provisions that are donated. The services are ample as they are also dedicated to cleaning the beaches, volunteering in the animal refuges, preparing and delivering food for the elderly.
In this way, the girls are learning values and responsibilities for better integral development and formation to become adults with a sense of community toward others and with the planet earth.
“The Brownies” will have food sales to raise funds and thereby contribute to noble causes. The troupe of girls will be selling the traditional homemade cookies, along with fine thin mints and the famous Samoas, very popular in the United States.
Aimme Burnam, coordinator of “The Brownies” troupe, confirmed that the Girl Scouts will be in the organic market the first week of December, selling their cookies and handmade crafts.
