Present at the meeting, along with the families of the victims, were a representative of the Association of Development, Juan Luis Ramirez and owner of Materiales de Construcción Nosara (Nosara Building Materials), Allan Barrantes, who enjoyed dinner with his family and awarded each of the organizers a bonus of 250,000 colones ($500) redeemable for building materials. Mr. Barrantes donated a total of 1.75 million colones ($3, 500). Attendees contributed by paying the entrance fee of $70 totaling about 2 ½ million colones ($5,000), which will help families rebuild their homes.

Attendees, mostly foreigners living in Playa Guiones, tasted several dishes, the background music was played by DJ Black and the host, Eduardo Cespedes, was commissioned to translate everything that happened at the event. At one point during the night the families who lost their homes were coming forward one by one, while projected photographs revealed the magnitude of the disaster.

Art was also present this evening with artist Ann Lew, who showed what a great dancer she is. First she delighted everyone with a great tap dance and then thrilled the audience with her famous belly dancing. Later, almost at the close of the night, a group of seniors from Kittson Library, presented a theater play entitled "The Doctor."
