On Friday, 14th of April, the Catholic Church of Samara became a concert hall for the Orquesta Sinfonica de Nicoya 25 de Julio.
This event, sponsored by Alfaro and the Municipality of Nicoya, gathered about 200 spectators who were delighted listening to well known classical from masters like Tchaikovsky, Handel, and Gioachino Rossini, as well as to all time favorite Guanacastecan pieces.
The ensemble of more than one hundred talented and dedicated local musicians was wonderfully directed by Luis Guevara Mora. They are all a source of inspiration for local youth.
Marco Antonio Jimenez, Mayor for the County of Nicoya, had the honor of presenting the group that had previously visited Samara in an outdoor candlelight concert last year. The mayor emphasized the opportunities that exist to join such a prestigious group and encouraged parents to talk to their kids about those possibilities.
Once again, with its massive attendance, the little town of Samara proved that it has a fine ear for cultural entertainment.
