At 10:30 p.m. on Friday, April 10th, Nosara volunteer firefighters put out a fire that started behind the Tropicana nightclub, located in the center of town.
The fire started on the left bank of the Nosara River and spread out about 300 meters (985 feet), reaching the area behind Rancho Tico.
The flames reached up to three meters (10 feet) high, mainly burning grasslands and some small and medium-size trees.
Thanks to the rapid response of the Nosara firefighters and the help of the Nicoya firefighters, they succeeded in isolating and controlling the fire by 12:30 a.m., thus preventing businesses and homes from burning in this sector.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
