Samara’s locals are showing their pride by sharing a video that shows how people live in the area on the social network Facebook.
The video is titled “People of Samara” and was filmed by Patrick Schect, 28, who visited the town of Samara for the first time near the end of 2011. After returning to the United States, he decided to learn how to edit videos to be able to document his travels and to return to Samara, recording his experiences.
Scecht’s favorite shot is one of children playing on the soccer field, as they looked genuinely happy and curious about his presence. Another scene, in which a bull in the ring stares at the camera for a few seconds, was also intense for Schecht.
The video was recorded over a period of two weeks with a 5D Mark iii camera, a variety of lenses, a tripod and a slider.
The short has received positive reviews from people who live or have lived in Samara.
