Ticks: A Little, Big Problem

Finding a tick might seem to us like a common occurrence, especially in the hot lands that we have in most of Guanacaste’s cantons. But, we should also be a little afraid: the number of diseases and parasites they can transmit are capable of sickening and even killing an animal.

Veterinary doctors in Guanacaste, like Angel Medrano and Emilio Rodríguez, deal every day with light tick-related issues that can be combated with pills, although they often come across more serious illnesses that could even require a blood transfusion.
