Pura Pizza is First to Offer Pizza-by-the-Slice in Guiones Beach

Tasty and affordable pizza by the slice for surfers, locals, construction workers and tourists, is what Pura Pizza’s Marco Testa says is the vision for the newest addition to Nosara’s growing number of restaurants.

A cheese slice is ¢1.500 and slices with meat and vegetables are ¢2.000. 

Three Italians, Laura Corazza, Massimo Bulgarelli and Marco Testa, who were the chef, pizza maker and waiter, respectively, at GiardinoTropicale for the past two years, opened Pura Pizza together.

Yes, there is a lot of pizza in the Guiones and Esperanza area Testa admitted, “but there is no pizza by the slice here.  It is very common in Europe and in the US, but not here,” he said explaining the opportunity the three Italians saw.

In addition to the individual slices, Pura Pizza offers Standard Size pizzas of 14 inches for ¢4.000 to ¢7.000 depending on the toppings.  Big Size pizzas of 18 inches range from ¢8.000 to ¢13.000 and feed four people. 

The stand also serves canned sodas, smoothies and veggie or meat lasagna and eggplant parmesan. 

For deliveries, there is a ¢1.500 charge and 10% service added to the pizza cost.  Pura Pizza will not deliver pizza slices but everything else on the menu is available for delivery.
