Esta publicación también está disponible en: Español

Arturo Alvarez Alvarez has worked in the food industry for more than ten years. His business “Date un Gustito” (Give Yourself a Little Taste) began as a small enterprise, simply selling hamburgers from his house, but now his lunches are very popular in Nicoya.

Alvarez takes orders from employees at the municipality, banks, cooperatives, group meetings and offices in the colonial city.

Rice dishes (¢4,000 or $7.50) are one of his specialties, served on a large tray that can easily be shared by four people. The dishes come with French fries or patacones (deep fried plantains) and a mixed salad. He cooks rice with chicken, shrimp or in a Chinese style called cantons that includes chicken, ham and pork.

Other lunch options include chicken fillets or grilled pork chops(¢4,000 or $7.50), as well as fast foods such as salchipapas (pieces of sausage with French fries), a super taco with meat or a ham and cheese burger, all for ¢2,200 ($4).

Alvarez also offers breakfasts in the morning, delivering a cup of yogurt and fruit that includes banana, papaya, watermelon, kiwi and granola for ¢1,700 ($3.15).

Everything on the menu is only sold by order and delivery is only offered in Nicoya. Alvarez starts cooking early in the morning in order to provide his clientele with hot food, fresh from the kitchen.

Orders can be placed by calling 8876-2815.
