Food to Attack the Munchies

Esta publicación también está disponible en: Español

The worst thing that can happen on a night out is to feel that uncontrollable hunger and know that no place is open. Given this horrific situation that many of us have faced, Samara is fortunate to have Munchies Providers, who appear with food when it’s that time.

With a cart that has its own grill and a place for coolers to keep food refrigerated, Marcos Castro and his girlfriend, Erika Rojas, started to position themselves in front of the bars in Samara a year ago, with such success that they already have three carts and a location in the Shanna business center that opened this year in February.

The carts, which bear the slogan “Keep calm, we’ve got the Munchies,” save many with delicious cheeseburgers with bacon for ¢2,500 (about $4.70). They also have chicken nachos or chicken quesadillas for ¢3,000 (about $5.65).

Vegetarians also meet with luck because the carts, which are usually placed in front of Tabanuco, Bar Arriba and the police station, offer wraps or veggie burgers for ¢2,500. Both are made with heart of palm, avocado, mushrooms, onion, lettuce and cheese.

You can order some delicious mozarella sticks there for ¢3,500 (about $6.60) and some Munchies potatoes that come fixed with chicken, cheddar cheese, lettuce, sour cream and jalapeno peppers for ¢3,000. Now during the day, you can also order casados with rice, beans, vegetables and mashed potatoes for ¢3,000.

The good:

The prices are very affordable and there is a variety for all tastes and vegetarian options.

The bad:

For now, they do not have anything sweet. However, they are already thinking about incorporating ice cream.
