Lots of music, dancing and fun for all ages. In this way the community of Playa Brasilito will celebrate International Tourism Day on Friday, September 27th.

The activities will begin at 11:00 AM and will take place in the communal center (Salón Comunal) and Brasilito’s sports field (Plaza de Deportes de Brasilito).

Jason Vargas, head of the tourism management department of the police in Playa Brasilito, mentioned that this is the first year the event will be celebrated, which they organized together with the Playa Brasilito’s Development Association (Asociación de Desarrollo Integral de Playa Brasilito).

Other highlights will include the parade of the bands of Hotel Flamingo Beach, Brasilito’s elementary school, Santa Cruz High School, Nicoya’s Technical High School (Colegio Técnico Profesional de Nicoya) and the Tourism Police Fantasy Group (Grupo de Fantasía de la Policía Turística).

In addition, Vargas mentioned that there will live music and performances of rock, jazz, folk dances and a marimba concert organized by officers from the command headquarters of Liberia (Comandancia de Liberia).

Also present will be the Rondalla of the Fuerza Pública, which is a group of musician-cops who play a wide repertoire of folk songs by Costa Rican and Latin American composers and popular music.

“We want to unite ourselves with the community, in addition to inviting everyone to visit us and celebrate International Tourism Day together,” said Vargas.
