The Marbella Surf Inn has new owners, and to introduce themselves, they are organizing a party with Nicoyan band Azul Plata next Friday, November 7.

“We love their music and know our clients in the Guanacaste do as well. This will be our first party event and we wanted to feature Azul Plata only to enable our clientele from the Nosara/Marbella/Tamarindo area to have an unforgettable dance party experience,” said Marne Marais, co-owner of the hotel.

Marais, age 48, is from South Africa, and her partner Darcy Brede, age 47, is from Canada, but they lived in Colorado in the United States for the last 10 years. Because Costa Rica is close to their hearts, in the beginning of 2014 they decided it was time to start to look for a business in the Guanacaste area.

“My partner and I have been looking for a business in the Guanacaste because we travelled in Costa Rica several times in the past and fell in love with the endless beaches and remote surf of the area. When we found the Marbella Surf Inn, we knew it was perfect for our venture as the town still has that true feel of the Guanacaste and yet is next to one of the best surf breaks in the region,” said Marais.

Among the renovations that Marais and Bredge are making to the restaurant is a new 72” TV in the bar area as well as some other smaller TV’s throughout the pool and bar areas to make it more of a sports bar and to give people an opportunity to watch soccer on a huge screen.

Azul Plata will start the dance at 9 p.m., but if you wish, you can make a reservation to eat starting at 6 p.m. Admission to the party costs 5000 colones (about $9.25) at the door or 3500 colones ($6.50) if booked prior to the event by calling 2682-8206.

The hotel is located 300 meters west of the ICE tower in Marbella.
