Nosara’s cooking duo, cousins “Kique” Luis Enrique Lopez Barrantes and “Fofo” Rodolfo Cabalceta Lopez, are adding a steakhouse to Il Peperoni in Playa Pelada. With the construction of a new grill and griddle, the expanded menu provides clients with more options as of the beginning of September.
In addition to their selection of pizza, pasta and seafood, they now serve special cuts of meat cooked over a wood fire, including mixed meat skewers, ribs, churrascos (barbecued steak), T-bone, filet mignon and chaturian (chateaubriand steak) in a tarragon sauce. Prices vary between 6000 and 8500 colones ($12-17), depending on the cut.
According to Lopez, their goal is to always provide the best for their clients at accessible prices. He recommends the chateaubriand steak or the churrascos.
Cabalceta and Lopez have been operating restaurants in Nosara for 15 years and opened Il Peperoni two years ago. Both have a background in hotel hospitality and received culinary training in Italy.
Il Peperoni is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. For more information, contact 2682-0545.
