For those who have always dreamed of learning music and playing an instrument, this is the month to do it.
During the entire month of June, the Nicoya Music School will open registration for all who want to learn. The only requirements are to be at least five years old and pay the ₡10,000 ($20) fee. Minors should be accompanied by an adult.
The institution is part of the National System of Musical Education (SINEM – Sistema Nacional de Educación Musical), a Ministry of Culture program.
This year, some 300 students participate in the school, which is directed by Jorge Luis Guevara.
Following enrollment, classes will begin in July, with a voluntary fee of ₡5,000 ($10) per month.
