On Friday, January 24, the Samara Organic Market will offer more than healthy food during the third annual art fair, “Que Lindo” (How Lovely).

Local artists and artisans will be exhibiting and selling their creations, including paintings and watercolors, mixed media, masks, clothing, jewelry, and fused glass, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Natural Center Gym and Spa in downtown Samara, next to the school.

At the farmer’s market, produce, sauces, pickles and baked goods will also be available. In addition to arts and crafts, a children’s table will offer hands-on activities.

“There is so much talent and creative energy in Samara and the Nicoya Peninsula, we want to show it off.  Each year we are building on the previous art fairs with more artists and a better venue,” commented Lavae Aldrich, one of the event organizers.

“We’ve moved the date to January when there are more tourists and part-time expats in town.  This will allow more people to see what we make here. Mixed with the Friday Farmers’ Market, we expect a really good turn-out,” Aldrich said.

If you are an artist interested in participating, contact [email protected] or 8977-1576. Registration costs 2000 colones ($4).
