Young Man Shot in Nosara Was Transferred to Hospital Mexico

On the evening of Saturday, May 16, a 28-year-old Costa Rican man identified by the last names Zuñiga Zuñiga was wounded with a firearm. The incident occurred in front of the Catholic Church in the community of Nosara.

According to the Tourist Police of Playa Guiones, who were called by the Nosara Public Force to assist in searching for the suspects, the attempted murder was committed by two men dressed in black who were riding a motorcycle without a license plate. After having shot Zuñiga, they fled the scene.

Zuñiga was treated on site by the Nosara Red Cross and transferred immediately to La Anexion Hospital, but that same night, he was sent to Hospital Mexico, where he is currently in critical condition.

The suspects, who were identified by the last names Castillo Badilla and Pastor Ramirez, were arrested between the communities of Guiones and Garza by the Samara Public Force, who were also called to assist in the search.

One of the suspects is of Nicaraguan nationality and has a history of attempted murder.

Both suspects were arrested and placed in the custody of the Nicoya District Attorney’s Office, while the motorcycle they were riding was impounded by the Traffic Police.
