Sustainable Straws Made In Guanacaste

Esta publicación también está disponible en: Español

Constantino Morales and his family live in Jobo, a small village in the Nicoya mountains. Don Tino, 59, started a drinking straw business in 2007. Before that he was head landscaper at Hotel Harmony in Nosara, where he took an interest in sustainbility and the environment. That led him to the idea of starting a business to make sustainable, organic, 100% biodegradable straws to help reduce the use of plastic. With his family’s help, the micro-business continues to grow, distributing products to companies in Costa Rica’s northern and southern Pacific regions.
